TinyFest 2024:
Callout to Artists

TinyFest is seeking expressions of interest for participation in the 2024 edition of the festival, taking place at Tūranga Central Library on 22nd-24th November 2024 along the theme of Public-Actions / Publications.

We are interested in the following topics:

temporality / co-existence / arrival / dispersal / ethical space-taking / archives / lists / repetition / singularity / plurality / presence / absence / interactivity/ porosity / meshworking / portability

TinyFest seeks pitches for events that prioritise the interface between performer(/s) and audience, and the interface between performer(/s) and venue. We are looking for work that is surprising, curious, challenging, rigorous, resilient and sustainable.

Pitches can be written and/or recorded via video. Written pitches should be up to 1000 words in length. Video pitches should be up to five minutes in length.

Callouts are due on Sunday the 31st of March 2024

Our Curatorial Process

Each pitch submission will be considered by our Tiny Fest curatorial panel in order to select our final programme for Tiny Fest 2024.

The curatorial panel will be selecting pitches based on:

  • Responsiveness to the topics listed above 
  • Responsiveness to space
  • Material affordability and capacity based on funding
  • The adaptability of the work and willingness to explore

 

The panel is made up of Artistic Director Janaína Moraes and Curatorial Panellists Sean Curham, Gabrielle Stoddard, Maryam Bagheri & Josiah Morgan. This call out is a part of the overall Tiny Fest curatorial process, and while participation in Tiny Fest 2024 is unfortunately not guaranteed for every submission, our team are committed to long term artist relationships, and will be interested in nurturing further conversations with all submitting artists.We encourage artists from different backgrounds and experiences to apply.
