Inspired by utopian realities and the artificiality of wellness culture, ‘Soft phase’ is focused on the search for comfort and the growing desire for self regulation. This solo work, developed in residence at Movement Art Practice in 2023, is an accumulation of research and experimentation into the nervous system and how to activate a shared experience of the body. A place following its own set of rules and circulatory systems. Ideas of ritual, care, repetition and connection evolve and dissolve. Sitting between trance and entrancement, dance and sound will lead the way for collective deactivation and unsubscribing.
